Sesame oil is from Asia and is thick and nutty-flavored, made from roasted sesame seeds. Since it burns easily, it is used as a flavoring, not for frying. The chef at the Van Ness Street Branch of Charlie Chaing's Restaurants (in Alexandria, VA) has a singular way with the cold starter dishes favored at Chinese Banquets. The beef tendon, duck tongues, jellyfish and pigs ears he serves are acquired tastes, but he also offers string beans with ginger sauce, Chinese peas with dried shrimp and spicy sliced cucumber. ============================================================ Date: Tuesday, 17-Sep-96 08:45 AM From: johnnye@VNET.IBM.COM (Unlisted Name) \ Internet: (johnnye@vnet.ibm.com) To: mc-recipe@lassie.sierra.com (Unlisted Name) \ Internet: (mc-recipe@lassie.sierra.com) To: Mastercook \ Internet: (mc-recipe@lassie.sierra.com) Subject: Let's
