Gillian Kennels (formerly Springwater Kennels) was established in 1983 and since that time
has produced over twenty breed Champions and eight have received Obedience Titles. Five of
the champions have placed in the Working Group and one has received a Best in Show Award.
Our founding brood bitch, Ch. Springwater Cover Girl CD, was also owner handled to a Best
in Show. Later, we added another brood bitch, Ch. Mogyorodi - Budas Bodza, from Hungary to
our lines. One of Bodza sons was the number one dog and the KCA National Specialty Winner
in 1997 and 1998. Another son which we bred and showed was the number one dog and the KCA
National Specialty winner in 1999.
Our first Komondor was obtained from Summithill Kennels in 1976. The
third Komondor we owned and showed, Ch. Summithill I'm Tuff Stuff UD, is the only Komondor
to receive a High in Trial Award in obedience in the United States. Also she is the only
Komondor to receive a Utility Degree (UD) and a High in Trial Award in Canada.
Our philosophy is to breed dogs that are sound in both mind and
body. A good loving home for our puppies is our highest priority. We have bred on
average a little less than one litter a year. Breeding for us is strictly a hobby.
