The total cost for the weekend is $130, payable to PA Cursillo.
The total can be submitted with this application, or a $25 registration fee can be paid with the balance of $105 on the weekend. If financial assistance is needed, please contact your sponsor.

The Cursillo Weekend

What is the Cursillo Weekend?

The Cursillo Weekend is a short course in Christian Living: Three (3) days of worship, workshops and fellowship.

Who may attend?

Cursillo is intended for Episcopal adults: men and women, single or married, lay or clergy. Husbands and wives may make their Cursillo together or separately. Participants must be at least twenty one (21) years old. Special considerations: The Cursillo schedule is quite full. Although rest periods are provided, candidates need to be both physically and emotionally healthy. People who have recently experienced divorse, separation, bereavement, serious illness or emotional or psychological instability may not be ready to attend. Please take this caution to heart. It may be better to wait for another time rather than to rush the experience.

What can I expect?

You and other persons attending are from all walks of life. Many are eager for an enriching experience. Others are curious. Some may even be apprehensive. On a Cursillo Weekend you may expect:

• An experience shared with a small, closely knit group formed as you meet your fellow Cursillistas (what one who participates in Cursillo is called) in Christian community.
• A way of spiritual growth through a new approach to teachings, sacraments, devotions and ministry.
• Realizing that as individuals we are far from finished products, but that we have God's assurance of power to work toward perfection.
• A more precise focus on our responsibilities and mission in our Christian walk.- beyond the 3-day weekend.
• A continuing Christian support system to nurture one another as we work to renew all things through Christ.

What will I be doing?

You'll be: listening to talks and participating in discussions; reflecting on values and goals as a Christian; communing with God in prayer, both privately and with the entire community; celebrating Christianity in joyful liturgies and song; and experiencing Christian love and genuine Christian community in many different ways.

What should I bring?

Bring comfortable clothes, appropriate to the weather, your personal toilettries, and whatever medication you may take regularly. A bible and your journal are optional. Everything else will be provided for you.

What is expected of me?

Just be open and willing to respond to what you experience. Make a genuine effort to discover where you are and where you can grow in you Christian life. Know that you are accepted where you are and as you are and then be curious enough to commit a weekend of your life totally to growing closer to Jesus Christ.
