A Union City man was killed in a one-car accident Friday at 8:10 p.m. on Route 6, about one-quarter mile west of Mitchel Road in Union Twp. The victim, John R. Lasher, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene by officials. Pennsylvania State Police at Corry said that Lasher was heading west on Route 6 when his car failed to make a curve and struck a tree.

John Ray Lasher, 37, of Brown Street, Union City, died Friday, Apr 7, 2000, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Union City, Oct 6, 1962, son of the late William and Agnes M. Burlingham Lasher.
A graduate of Union City schools, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, John Krol Post 6773 in Union City.
Survivors include his wife, Yvette S. Thomas Lasher; three stepsons, Norman, Justin and Jesse Leech, all of Union City; two sisters, Nancy Burnett and Carol York, both of Erie; three brothers, Arthur Lasher and his wife, Judy, and David Lasher, all of Union City, and Darel Lasher and his wife, Patricia, of Cambridge Springs, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced later.
Glenn Funeral Home, 62 S. Main St., Union City, is handling arrangements.
