* Exported from MasterCook * Chuck's Jewish Apple Cake Recipe By : Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Apples Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups Sugar 2 cups Flour 3 tablespoons Baking powder 1 cup Oil 4 Eggs 2 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla 1/3 cup Orange juice 6 Apples; pared -- thinly sliced -- dropped into lemon water and drained -- well 1 cup Sugar 1 tablespoon Cinnamon Mix together well the sugar and cinnamon. Sift other dry ingredients together and put in a large bowl; add eggs, oil, vanilla and orange juice, mixing well; pour 1/4 of batter into a greased and floured tube pan; top with 1/4 of apples; sprinkle with 1/4 of sugar/cinnamon; continue layering, ending with sugar/cinnamon; bake in a preheated 350~ oven for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours; cool on a wire rack.
