Line a 7 inch baking tin with greased paper. P ut the butter, sugar and treacle in a saucepan and heat gently until the fat melts. Sieve the flour and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl and add the oat- meal, sugar and spice. Add the melted treacle mixture and the milk. Stir well until blended.
