* Exported from MasterCook * Oriental Casserole Recipe By : Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:30 Categories : Casseroles Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/3 Cup green onions -- chopped 1/4 Cup green pepper -- chopped 1 Tablespoon oil 1 Cup water 2 Tablespoons cornstarch 1/4 Teaspoon ground ginger 1/3 Cup soy sauce 2 Tablespoons water 1 Tablespoon brown sugar 2 Cups chicken -- cubed, cooked 1 Can chinese vegetables -- rinsed and drained 10 Ounces snow peas -- partially thawed 1 Can waterchestnuts -- drained 1 Can chow mein noodles -- heated Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly oil a deep 2 quart casserole. In a 10 inch skillet over medium heat, saute green onions and green pepper in 1 tablespoon oil for 3 minutes. Add 1 cup water; bring to a boil. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine cornstarch and ginger. Add 1/3 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons water and brown sugar and stir until smooth. Stir into skillet. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in chicken, vegetables, peas and water chestnuts . Pour into casserole. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until heated through. Stir casserole before serving.
