* Exported from MasterCook * Italian Sausages Rotini Salisiccia Recipe By : Serving Size : 10 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Casseroles Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 Pound Rotini Water,boiling -- salted 1 1/2 Pounds Italian sausage -- 1/2" slices 4 Ounces Mushrooms,fresh -- slices 1/3 Cup Green pepper -- chopped 1/3 Cup Onion -- chopped 1/4 Cup Butter or margarine 1/2 Cup Flour 1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt 1 Teaspoon Mustard -- dry 4 Cups Milk 1 1/2 Cups Cheddar cheese -- shredded 1 1/2 Cups Swiss cheese -- shredded 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1. Cook rotini in boiling salted water until firm, but not quite tender, 6 to 7 minutes; drain and set aside. 2. Brown sausage on both sides in a large saucepan; remove from pan, reserving dripping. 3. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion and butter to sausage drippings; cook over medium heat 3 minutes. 4. Stir in flour, salt and dry mustard. 5. Gradually blend in milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. 6. Stir in cheeses and Worcestershire sauce; continue cooking until cheeses melt. 7. Mix in sausage and rotini. 8. Divide mixture between two greased 2-quart baking dishes ; bake in preheated 350'F. oven about 30 to 40 minutes. 9. Serve hot. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
