Reno Red Chili powder 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco 1/2 teaspoon Oregano 6 cloves garlic 3 California dried chili peppers 1 N.M. dried pepper 1 tablespoon plus 1 tsp. salt 14 1/2 ounces can Chicken broth 14 1/2 ounces can Beef broth 3 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon brown sugar squeeze of lime Dash of MSG *****1993 World Championship Chili Cookoff Winner ******** Brown meat in oil about one-half hour. Add onion with beef broth to cover meat. Cook to a boil for 15 minutes. Add 1 tbsp. cumin and cook hard for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to a light boil, add garlic. Add one-half of the chili powder & cook for 10 minutes. Add Tomato sauce with the pulp from the dried peppers. Add broth as needed for consistency. Cook for one hour. Add the rest of the chili powder, cumin, and brown sugar. Simmer 25 minutes. Add salt, oregano and squeeze lime. Broths are added during cooking time as needed for liquid.
