* Exported from MasterCook * Tart Cherry Cobbler Recipe By : Serving Size : 10 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Fruits Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 7 cups tart cherries -- pitted, halved 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon almond extract vegetable cooking spray 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup lowfat sour cream 2 tablespoons skim milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 each egg 1 tablespoon sugar Combine first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan; stir well. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook 1 minute or until thickened. Remove from heat, and stir in the almond extract. Spoon cherry mixture into an 11 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray; set aside. Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add flour and next 4 ingredients, and pulse 2 times or until blended. Add sour cream and next 3 ingredients; process until well blended. Spread battter over cherry mixture. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is golden.
