                        Elegant Strawberry Custard

   4      cups          strawberries
     1/4  cup           anise-flavored liqueur
     3/4  cup           flour
   4                    eggs
   1      cup           sugar
   4      cups          milk -- boiling
   1      cup           whipping cream

Combine strawberries and liqueur and chill seeral hours.
 The strawberries may be slightly sweetened if desired. 
 In a saucepan combine flour, eggs, and sugar.  
Slowly add the boiling milk, using a wire whisk to combine.  
Cook and stir until mixture thickens.  
Cool.  

Whip the cream and use the whisk to combine with custard.
  Layer strawberries anc custard in your fine stemware.
 (Raspberries can be used in place of strawberries.)
