                      Fresh Strawberry Layer Pudding

     1/2  cup           butter
   1      pound         confectioners' sugar
   2                    eggs
     1/2  pint          whipping cream -- whipped or
   8      ounces        cool whip
   1      quart         strawberries
   1      pound         vanilla wafers

Cream together first 3 ingredients.  Roll vanilla wafers into not too fine
crumbs.  Place 1/2 in bottom of pan (9x13).  Cover with layer of creamed
butter, sugar and eggs.  Then cover with strawberries whole or sliced.  Cover
with whipped cream - then top with rest of vanilla crumbs.  Garnish with
whole berries and chill.  May be chilled overnight.
