* Exported from MasterCook * Key Lime Mousse Pie Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pies Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- -----HAZELNUT CRUST----- 2 cups Ground hazelnuts -- generous 3 tablespoons Brown sugar 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter -- melted -----MOUSSE----- 5 Eggs 1 cup Sugar 1/4 cup Unsalted butter 3/4 cup Fresh lime juice 2 tablespoons Grated lime peel 2 tablespoons Rum -- optional 2 Drops green food color 1/2 pint Heavy cream -- whipped 1/2 cup Sour cream Make crust: Combine all ingredients; blend well with fork. Pat into a 9 inch pie plate. Bake in 400~ oven 5 to 6 minutes. Cool Make filling: Beat eggs and sugar until lemon-colored and foamy; add butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until custard-like, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in lime juice and peel, rum and food coloring. Cool to room temperature.
