* Exported from MasterCook * Upside Down Pecan Pie Recipe By : Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pies Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 Tbs Soft butter 1 C Pecan halves 1/2 C Brown sugar 1 Tsp Vanilla extract 1 Tb Maple syrup Unbaked 8" (2 crust) pastry 4 Tart apples, peeled cored, sliced 2 Tbs Granulated sugar 1/2 Tb Lemon juice 1 Tsp Cinnamon 1 Tb Flour 1 Tb Currents 1 Dash salt Spread soft butter on sides and bottom of a non-stick 8" pie plate Spread pecan halves round side down, into butter. Mix brown sugar, vanilla and maple syrup. Pack tightly on top of pecans. Cover with an 8" pie crust, and press down. Mix apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, flour, currants and salt. Spoon apple mix over dough. Brush edge with beaten egg. Cover with another 8" pie crust. Pinch edges to pleat dough. Cut 4 slits in top. Bake at 400` for 45 minutes.
