* Exported from MasterCook * Basic Bean Salad Recipe By : Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Salads Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1-lb can green beans 1 1-lb can wax beans 1 1-lb can kidney beans 1 1-lb can chick peas 1 cup Celery -- chopped 1 cup Green Pepper -- chopped 1 cup Red Onion -- sliced 3/4 cup Sugar 2/3 cup Cider vinegar 1/3 cup Salad oil 1/4 teaspoon Ground pepper 1/2 teaspoon Salt (opt) Drain the beans and chick peas; put into a large bowl. Add the celery, green pepper and onion. In a jar with a lid on to shake , put the sugar, vinegar, salad oil, salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the beans and vegetables. This makes a large quanitity, but will keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator. SLICED CUCUMBER AND ONION SALAD: Use the dressing as above, but added to sliced cucumbers and onions.
