* Exported from MasterCook * Molded Beet Salad Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Salads Gelatins Fruits Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 tablespoon Gelatin 1/4 cup Water -- cold 3/4 cup Beets -- diced 1 cup Oranges -- mandarin 1/4 teaspoon Salt 3 tablespoons Onion -- minced 1/4 cup Vinegar -- or lemon juice Lettuce Mayonnaise Celery salt Soften gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes. Drain juice from beets and oranges, ading enough water to make 1-1/4 cups liquid. Heat juice to boiling and add gelatin to this ; then add salt, onion, and vinegar or lemon juice (or combination of the two). Chill. when mixture is slightly thickened, fold in beets and oranges. Pour into 6 individual molds and chill until firm. Unmolk on lettuce and serve with mayonnaise with dash of celery salt. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
