                       Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce

     1/2  cup           Vegetable oil
   1      cup           Soy sauce
   3      tablespoons   Brown sugar
  30      milliliters   Garlic -- mashed  (I use
                        from a jar)
   1      tablespoon    Fresh gingerroot -- grated
                        use about 1/2 to 1 tsp -- powdered ginger)
   2      tablespoons   Sherry

Combine ingredients and mix well.  marinate the meat 4 to 12 hours in the refrigerator.
 Baste with the marinade during cooking.
