Remove beans and rinse in cold water. Peel beans. Drop asparagus tips in boiling water and blanch for 30 seconds; drain . In a heavy saucepan heat oil over moderately high heat. Add onion, leeks and celery and sweat, covered with a round of wax pepper and the lid, until soft but not browned. dd stock and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes and add chopped asparagus and fava beans. Return to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 8 minutes and remove from heat. Let cool slightly, uncovered. In a blender or processor puree soup in batches until smooth. Season with salt and pepper and chill for at least 2 hours.
