* Exported from MasterCook * Lamb and Barley Soup Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Soups Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 pound Lamb -- finely chapped 1/2 pound Pearl barley 3 Carrots -- large 2 White turnips 2 1/2 tablespoons Butter 2 tablespoons Parsley -- chopped Salt & Pepper to taste Cut the carrots and turnips into small cubes. Saute them in butter in a large soup pot. When they are golden, add the chopped meat, the barley and 8 cups water. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 1 1/2 hours or until the barley is done.
