* Exported from MasterCook * Vidalia Onion Soup Recipe By : Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tablespoons Butter 4 cups Vidalia onions -- slice 1 tablespoon Flour 5 cups Water 5 Vegetarian bouillon cubes 1/4 cup Sherry 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce -- Vegetarian Croutons Melt the butter over very low heat. Add the onions and saute, stirring with a fork, for about 10 minutes or until the onions are broken into rings and become translucent. Stir the flour into 2 tb of the water until dissolved. Pour this mixture, water and bouillon cubes into the pan with the onions. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, crushing the cubes with a spoon, if necessary. Remove from heat. Add the sherry and the worcestershire sauce. Ladle into 4 12oz bowls or 6 oz bowls or mugs. Top with croutons. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
