* Exported from MasterCook * Yorktown Onion Soup Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Soups Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/4 cup Butter 3 cups Onions -- thinly sliced 3 10 3/4 oz cns beef bouillon 1 1/2 cans Water 1 tablespoon Sugar 1 tablespoon Cornstarch 1/4 cup Water 1/4 cup Sour cream 6 Toast circles Melt butter in 2 qt pot and saute onions til translucent. Add bouillon, water and sugar; cover and simmer 1/2 hr. or til onion is soft. Mix corn- starch and water to make a thin paste; add to simmering soup to thicken slightly, stirring constantly with a whisk. Simmer on low heat for 10 min. or longer, if not serving immediately.
