* Exported from MasterCook * Valentine's Day Pie Recipe By : Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pies Fruits Nuts Holidays Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- -----MERINGUE SHELL----- 6 Egg whites 1/2 cup Grandulated sugar 1 teaspoon Cream of tartar -----FILLING----- 15 1/4 ounces Crushed pineapple -- drained 6 Bananas -- sliced 1 can Cherry pie filling 1 cup Macadamia nuts -- chopped MERINGUE: Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Add the sugar slowly until stuff peaks forms. Add the cream of tartar. In a lightly buttered 10" plate, spoon the meringue, spreading it up on the sides to form a deep dish pie shell Bake in 250~ oven for one hour. Do Not Open Oven during baking. Meringue should be light golden. Remove from oven and let cool. PIE: Cover bottom of cooled shell with the filling IN ORDER GIVEN. Chill at least 3 hours. Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with coconut. [1 pint whipping cream, 1 cup coconut flakes]. Be sure to serve this pie very cold. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
