* Exported from MasterCook * Asparagus & Ham Linguine Recipe By : Dairy farmers of ontario pamphlet Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound linguine 1 pound asparagus -- cut in 2" pieces 1 tablespoon butter 4 cloves garlic -- minced 1 1/2 cups whipping cream 1/2 cup smoked ham -- diced 2 tablespoons lemon juice lemon zest 1/4 cup fresh parmesan cheese -- grated 2 tablespoons chives -- finely chopped salt and pepper to taste 1. Cook linguine in a large pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Add asparagus and continue to cook another few minutes until paste is al dente. Drain well. 2. Meanwhile, heat butter in a saucepan over mediumheat, add garlic and saute for 1 minute. 3. Add cream, lemon zest and ham; boil gently for about 8-10 minutes sitrring occasionally until slightly thickened. 4. Stir in lemon juice and parmesan cheese. 5. Toss sauce with pasta and asparagus.
