Meanwhile, wash and remove tough stems from asparagus by breaking at point where woody part meets tender part. Cut the asparagus just below the tips and cut the rest of the stalks into 1/4" pieces. When the potatoes and onions are half-cooked, stir in the asparagus and rosemary. Reduce heat, cover and continue cooking until asparagus are tender but crisp. Season with salt and pepper.
