The origin of the name Triple S & R refers to Grandpa, Stan; older son, Scott; grandson, Steve; and younger son, Robert. Construction work began in 1997 by Robert and Grandpa and is ongoing. The C&D Transit (Trolley) Co. is a recent addition honoring daughters-in-law Camille and Debbie.
The System includes five ceiling/wall-suspended operating trains (two passengers and three freights) with appropriate buildings, lights, trees, automobiles and people—plus two operating trolleys. One trolley circuits around a small 1910-1920’s business district. The second makes a straight station-to-station run.
There are also eleven shelves where stationary trains are displayed. Seven additional shelves depict typical, life-like scenes ranging from the 1930’s to the 1960’s.
TOTAL BY COUNT (operating or stationary) HO gauge: 20 engines and 120 train cars, 0-27 gauge: 10 engines and 50 train cars, G gauge: 2 engines and 5 train cars, On3 gauge: 1 engine and 3 train cars, 4 HO gauge trolleys, 150 feet of layout track—plus numerous people, automobiles, animals, billboards, and buildings.
